For the safety and well-being of all students, please ensure that the Main Office and your child’s classroom teacher are aware of any legal agreements or court orders that affect your child’s custody, access, or guardianship arrangements.
Please provide the school with copies of any current legal documents so that they can be placed in your child’s Ontario Student Record (OSR). If there is a change to your family’s legal or custodial arrangements, please notify the Main Office as soon as possible and provide copies of any updated legal documentation. The school’s student information system will be updated once official documentation has been received.
We recognize that family circumstances can change over time. In the event of a separation or divorce, the school must follow any court-ordered arrangements that have been provided to the school.
Unless the school has received and has on file a current court order, restraining order, or other legal documentation that limits a parent’s rights, the school must generally provide parents with the same access and privileges in relation to their child. This may include visiting the school, communicating with or accessing information about the student, and arranging for the student to leave school.
